Carbon steel 90° butt welded seamless elbow

A carbon steel elbow is a vital component in piping systems, offering strength, versatility, and cost savings. Whether you need a 90° carbon steel elbow for a sharp turn or a long-radius elbow for smoother flow, choosing the right type ensures optimal performance.
For industries requiring reliable and durable pipe fittings, carbon steel elbows remain a top choice. If you’re sourcing high-quality carbon steel elbows, always check for compliance with industry standards like ASTM or ANSI.

FAQ

Q1: What are the main products you can supply?

A: We are a professional manufacturer and supplier in China for steel pipe and pipe fittings, including carbon steel elbows, flanges, bolts, nuts, and other pipe connection products. Our product range covers both standard and custom solutions for industrial piping and structural applications.

Q2: What is the difference between Long Radius (LR) and Short Radius (SR) elbows?

A: Long Radius (LR) elbows have a radius of R = 1.5D (1.5 times the pipe diameter) and are the standard choice for most industrial applications. They offer lower pressure drop, reduced erosion, and smoother flow. Short Radius (SR) elbows have a radius of R = 1.0D and are used where space is limited, but they create higher pressure drop and are more prone to erosion.

Q3: What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

A: For trial orders, our MOQ is 10 pcs per size. For bulk orders, MOQ is flexible — please contact us with your target quantity for a competitive quote. Volume discounts are available for large orders.

Q4: How long is the delivery time?

A: 7-15 days for standard sizes in stock after payment confirmation. For custom orders, delivery time is typically 20-30 days, depending on quantity, angle, radius, and specifications. We will confirm the exact timeline upon order confirmation.

Q5: How do you control quality?

A: We implement strict 3-stage quality control:

  • Raw material – chemical composition verified by spectrometer per ASTM A234 / EN 10253 requirements

  • Production – dimensional checks during forming, heat treatment, and beveling

  • Final – dimensional inspection (angle, radius, wall thickness, end preparation) per ASME B16.9

A Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 Type 3.1) is provided with every shipment, including chemical analysis and mechanical test results.

Q6: Which material grade should I choose for high-temperature service?

A: For service temperatures above 425°C, we recommend ASTM A234 WP11 or WP22 alloy steel grades. For general service up to 425°C, ASTM A234 WPB carbon steel is the standard choice. For low-temperature service down to -46°C, we recommend ASTM A420 WPL6.

Q7: Can I get samples before ordering?

A: Yes. Stock samples are free of charge – you only pay the shipping cost. Custom samples require a small production fee, which will be deducted from your first bulk order.

Q8: Do you accept OEM or custom orders?

A: Yes, we accept custom orders based on your drawings, specifications, or samples. We can also apply your logo on products and packaging. Our engineering team will review your requirements and provide a solution within 24 hours.

Q9: Which standards do your products comply with?

A: Our carbon steel elbows are manufactured per:

  • ASME B16.9 – Factory-made wrought steel butt-welding fittings (most common)

  • ASME B16.28 – Steel butt-welding short radius elbows and returns

  • EN 10253-2 – Butt-welding pipe fittings (European standard)

  • ISO 3419 – Steel butt-welding fittings (international standard)

  • GB/T 12459 – Steel butt-welding seamless pipe fittings (Chinese standard)

  • SH/T 3408 – Steel butt-welding fittings (petrochemical industry)

Our factory is ISO 9001:2015 certified and SGS audited annually.
